Is fruit juicing good for you?

Couple of years ago, I was asked to act as a consultant for a detox program designed by a large spa organisation and promoted by a well known Chinese show’s celebrity. Of course they offered me good publicity and fees.

I turned it down as I do not agree with fruit juice fasting. It is controversial (the same goes to olive oil to flush gall stones; it is still controversial) and high fructose is linked to increased risk of stones, gout, diabetes, cancer, cholesterol problem (risk even higher than lean meat diet) and most recently liver damage (see link). Please note that fructose is present in many health supplements especially the Vitamin C drinks. Note that C-Max which I carry in my clinic do not contain fructose or glucose.

In my book From Leaf to Life, fruit juice is put under moderation category.

Rather than juicing, drink herbal tea.
