Hair loss

A young men once came to consult on hair loss and thinning (especialy at the lateral sides of the forehead).

I told him that his condition was hereditary and what I can do for him is to prevent further hair loss due to other factors such as poor circulation, nutrient deficiency, stress etc.

He was not convinced. He went on to spend nearly $5000 for a package of hair treatments in a local hair loss centre. Nothing changed.

Too often, people are not interested in the root causes of disease but rather prefers quick fix for their problems. It is too painful to change our lifestyle.

Hair loss can be caused by many causes – auto-immune, poor diet, poor digestion etc.

One of the main causes is stress, in the form of over mental stimulation and mental work. You have to correct the stress disorder in order to heal. There is no quick fix.Don’t spend the whole day on the phone, internet, computer games and anything that requires a lot of mental stimulation. In addition, don’t use the hair dryer but rather let your hair be air dried.

Of course, prevention is always better than cure. You can prevent hair loss with a herbal formulae, which I wrote in my book Leaf to Life (Page 196).  It is also a good idea to shower with cool water  and massage your scalp with either a tincture of herbs (as above) or a oil blend that has coconut or avocado oil.

Hair thinning can be helped with supplements such as fish scale collagen (available in our clinic) and herbs such as Phyllanthus emblica (as in Phytolec) and the herb nettle (present in Phytocel and JCTH and Virita hair tonic spray).
