Merry Christmas. Last night I prepared a vegetarian buffet dinner for my friends and it was based on the herb Coriander or Cilantro.
So I have coriander in home- made sauce, coriander in salads etc.
Excerpt from my book Leaf to Life:
In addition to its high antioxidant content, coriander leaf has the ability to protect us from toxic heavy metals. Kansal and Sharma(2011) suggested that coriander had the potential to protect our bodies from heavy metals such as lead and mercury.
One of the most overlooked and underestimated types of toxins found in our food and environment is heavy metals. These may include lead, mercury, aluminium, and cadmium. In over a decade of working with my patients, the metals I found most often in urinary metal tests have been mercury and lead. Lead can be found in polluted cities, house dust, leaded paint, vegetables, food served along the roadside, cigarette smoke, and industrial pollution. Lead’s toxicity is linked to a whole host of ailments, including unexplained fatigue, anaemia, mental disturbances, dizziness, vertigo, hypertension, headaches, kidney damage, nerve problems, depression, restlessness, and anorexia.
