The difference between herbs and pharmaceutical drugs

There are many differences between the function of herbs and pharmaceutical drugs such as blood pressure, cholesterol, antibiotic medications etc. We can’t benefit much from natural medicine if we fail to understand the differences.

Pharmaceuticals drugs serve to suppress the symptoms. It may be necessary at times such as life-threatening situations – accidents, acute infection of the gallbladder etc.

A good example is antibiotics.  Antibiotics kill bacteria directly and in the process also kill or weaken the terrain i.e. your body.

You can shoot a missile (antibiotic) to kill your enemies but you also kill the civilians and innocent people and pollute the environment.

The function of herbs is to enhance your physical and emotional functions (and even spiritual if prescribed by a skilled herbalist) so that your body heal by itself. No herbs ‘kill’ bad bacteria or virus directly. Instead, herbs mobilise your immune defences to ‘fight’ with the bad guys. The more you allow the body to heal by itself, the stronger your immune defence become.

What is the big deal about taking herbal supplements such as Phytolec etc to enhance functions of your body?  Simply because we all age and faster aging (thus less functional) is the root cause of almost all diseases.

Simply eating a healthy diet and even with some culinary herbs will not improve functions of your organs significantly. They simply give you nutrients.

Based on modern research, high potency herbs with the right dose and professional protocol are required to improve functions of your organs. Therefore, for safe use and effectiveness, self-supplementation is not encouraged nor advised.

It is prudent to seek advice and coaching from a healing centered and qualified professional in herbal prescribing.
